Over the next few days, your favorite CGI porn site Naughty Machinima, which has always resided on a dedicated server, will be moved to a newer, faster server. Increased cores, more ram, an updated OS, and faster drives. Along with these performance improvements comes much more disk space, which is currently almost full. This will provide more space for all the new videos that are regularly uploaded by the NM community, while retaining all of the previous content.
So there will be some down time, and potentially some minor issues that may need to be tackled once the migration is complete, to ensure the software running the site stays operational. After this is complete, there are many improvements to the website itself planned to go into effect.
There is work being done to upgrade the site's software from 7.0 to 8.2, which will fix ghost notifications, add better tags, and a better commenting system, among other things.
Then there is a roadmap for adding new features and organization to Naughty Machinima. Here are some planned features/changes:
- User controlled filtering of content
- New categories/removing redundant ones
- Uploading to up to three categories (like it was in the past) instead of just one
- Moderation system (will be reaching out to volunteers who are qualified)
- Tighter user profiles
- A Paid Premium option to turn off all advertising as well as other nifty bonuses.
- A Platinum account option which brings more robust features to those of you who have been requesting this.
