I looked into the whole Source FIlmmaker thing and it is indeed a hundred times more modern and powerful than TK17, but there's a catch: I'd need to get another program, like Blender, and learn 3D modeling if I wanted to do anything other than stock video game characters. There's already 10,000 videos of ever video game heroine out there, so I'll keep putting up with TK17 just to be able to have my own creations and without needing a programming degree to do it.
